Examples of Steel Erection Planning

Steel erection is considered one of the most dangerous of all construction activities.  In today's industry up front planning is a must to ensure safety during steel erection.  Structural designs do not always allow for construction loading imposed by erection activities or stability of the building prior to completion.  Structural analysis of the framing by a licensed engineer and extensive research to determine the required bracing, guying, shoring, and hoisting needs, is everyday practice for Pro Steel.  Attached are sketches of several active projects demonstrating the upfront erection planning, months prior to the first column being set.

Each project has its own complexity and risk, such as the LAX project which warranted a conclusive study prior to bid submission. Though not successful in our bid, the sketches demonstrates the comprehensive plan that we are capable of creating prior to bid submission.
